FAQs

Q:  How Do I Choose Who to Work With?

The two biggest considerations are:

  • Do their abilities, skills, and focus match your needs, and

  • Do you feel a connection with them.

This is an important investment in yourself, so take your time, do research, ask questions.

Q:  How Much Does it Cost?

While cost matters, your mental and emotional health matter just as much if not more. Cost is one of many factors to consider.

When shopping for a car or smartphone or anything else we consider a priority, we shop carefully. That's how we meet our wants and needs.

This is your chance to make yourself a priority.

Q:  Wait, You Didn't Answer the Question ... How Much Does it Cost?

There are many things that impact how much you might pay:

  • Whether you have health insurance and whether your Provider accepts your insurance

  • The Co-Pay or Co-Insurance associated with your health insurance, if your Provider accepts your insurance

  • Your health insurance plan might have Out-of-Network benefits (call your health insurance to verify)

  • You might qualify for $0 (zero dollar) or low-fee sessions, varies per Provider.

Q: What Forms of Payment are Accepted?

Cash, Checks made out to "Salt and Light Counseling LLC", Google Pay to Reach_Us@SaltAndLightCounseling.com, and Credit/Debit/HSA/FSA Cards are all accepted.

Note: Google Pay is preferred to Credit/Debit Cards.

Q:  How Long are Sessions and How Often?

The first session is 60 minutes in length to allow for a few administrative items, answer any questions you may have, look at goals, and still have plenty of time to hear what matters to you.

Subsequent sessions may be 45 or 55 minutes in length, depending on several factors.

If you are using insurance and have a Co-Pay, your Co-Pay does not vary so does not depend on the length of the session. Co-Insurance does vary with the length of the session; i.e., a shorter session equates to a lower Co-Insurance.

We recommend sessions at least once a week until you experience some relief in your symptoms and stresses.

Meet Reesie .. Therapy Dog

Reesie is very friendly and loves people.  Reesie is Sherry's personal dog and is trained as a Therapy Dog to be calm in all settings. She stays with Sherry and is happy to interact with you if you wish to do so. If you wish Reesie to stay away from you, that is OK, too.

Reesie spends much of her time in Sherry's office sleeping

From the Alliance of Therapy Dogs .. "For many years, humans have been using dogs to assist in therapeutic settings because of their inherent ability to cheer up humans. Scientifically speaking, dogs have been proven to show empathy and sympathy for their human counterparts. These characteristics reveal themselves especially when someone is in emotional distress" .. and that's why she's there.
